The objective of this years-long project is to provide an updated characterization of groundwater resources of the Mountain Home plateau by developing a hydrogeologic framework and water budget for the study area. These data will provide IDWR with information to help address current water resource challenges in the Mountain Home plateau. The hydrogeologic framework and water budget developed from the Irrigated Lands data will also provide the conceptual basis for developing a potential future groundwater model.
<DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"><DIV><DIV><P><SPAN>This layer depicts polygons representing land within the Mountain Home plateau study area boundary and are classified as either "irrigated", "non-irrigated" or "semi-irrigated", where the semi-irrigated classification typically depicts residential land. </SPAN></P><P><SPAN>Attribute assignments for irrigation status fall within three classes - irrigated, non-irrigated, and semi-irrigated - and are determined using available Landsat imagery as background reference. Landsat imagery is typically 30-meter resolution for Landsat7 and Landsat8. Irrigation status is determined using 2010 Landsat5 and Landsat7 imagery for the following dates:
Path41Row30: 05-05, 05-13, 05-29, 06-06, 06-14, 06-22, 06-30, 07-08, 07-16, 07-24, 08-01, 08-09, 08-17, 08-25, 09-02, 09-10, 09-18, 09-26, 10-04, 10-12, 10-20, 10-28.

"Irrigated Lands" data was created from the best available data for each year.
"Irrigated Lands" data as provided by IDWR does not represent an on-the-ground survey nor is it based on a thorough water right review.
Irrigation status in the "Irrigated Lands" data is not determined using spectral signatures but is based on a GIS analyst's manual interpretation of remotely sensed imagery.
Field boundaries depicted within this dataset are not to be used for legal purposes.
The constantly expanding scope, completeness, and complexity of GIS technologies, including image processing and interpretation, allows IDWR to constantly improve upon the methodology used to create "Irrigated Lands" data. Topology rules were not present during the digitizing process but instead were used in the QA/QC process.
Given time constraints efforts have been made to refine positional accuracy based on NAIP and DOQQ imagery.
