 "description": "Evapotranspiration data developed using the METRIC (Mapping EvapoTranspiration at high Resolution with Internalized Calibration) model. METRIC is an image-processing model for computing ET data from satellite images. METRIC uses digital image data collected by Landsat or other remote sensing satellites measuring visible, near-infrared, and thermal infrared radiation. METRIC also incorporates USBR AgriMet weather data into the modeling process. Dr. Rick Allen, Dr. M. Tasumi, and Dr. R. Trezza, of the University of Idaho, developed METRIC by making refinements to the Surface Energy Balance Algorithm for Land (SEBAL).METRIC ET data in Idaho is primarily developed using Landsat 5, 7, 8 and 9 data. Most data are in the ERDAS Imagine file format. Filenames include the paths of the Landsat images used and the range of dates for seasonal ET data (e.g. p3940_20210401to20211031_et.img is Landsat paths 39 and 40, ET for the growing season 2021-04-01 to 2021-10-31). Monthly images show the month number (e.g. p3940_202104_et.img is for April of 2021). ET units are millimeters.This raster was generated using a new version of METRIC designed for improved speed and simplicity. In mountainous areas, evapotranspiration (ET) may be higher than in previous versions, as many of the complexities of convective and radiative transfer in these environments have been omitted. METRIC ET is generally less accurate on unirrigated surfaces and on snow and water surfaces.The Python evapy library git commit hash de5a165 was used to create these data.  Thermal imagery was sharpened using the Python pyDMS library at git commit hash 18e62c2.",
